Frequently Asked Questions
Answers about verification, anonymity, safety, and your account
Signing Up & Verification
Who can sign up for Anoniversity?
Only students with an active email address from one of the Big 4 universities in the Philippines:
- • @ateneo.edu — Ateneo de Manila University
- • @up.edu.ph — University of the Philippines
- • @dlsu.edu.ph — De La Salle University
- • @ust.edu.ph — University of Santo Tomas
Email addresses from other domains cannot sign up.
How does school verification work?
You enter your school email address and we send a one-time magic link to your inbox. Clicking the link proves you own a valid school email. No password is ever created or stored. This is your one-time verification, you never need to re-verify unless your session expires.
I didn't receive the verification email. What should I do?
Check your spam or junk folder first, school email servers sometimes filter automated emails. If it is still not there after a few minutes, try signing in again to resend the magic link. If the problem persists, contact us at anoniversityph@gmail.com.
Is there an age requirement?
Yes. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account on Anoniversity. This is confirmed during onboarding before you can post or interact.
Can alumni or non-enrolled students sign up?
Only if your school email address is still active and can receive email. If your institution has deactivated your email, the magic link will not reach you and you will not be able to verify.
Anonymity
What do other users see about me?
Other users only see:
- • Your anonymous username (e.g., "QuietDragon42")
- • Your school badge, only if you choose to show it
- • Your avatar color
- • Your posts, comments, and reactions
Does Anoniversity know my real identity?
The platform privately records your verified school (e.g., Ateneo, UP) so that moderators can investigate and action reports of abusive behavior. Your full email address is stored securely and is never displayed to other users or shared publicly. No real name, photo, or student ID is ever collected.
Can I change my anonymous username?
Yes. Go to Settings inside the app to change your username. You may change it once every 30 days.
Can I hide my school badge?
Yes. You can toggle your school badge on or off at any time from Settings. When the badge is off, other users only see your anonymous username.
Posts, Comments & Matching
What is the Big 4 Feed?
The Big 4 Feed shows posts from verified students across all four schools in one unified timeline. You can filter by school or by post category (Rant, Confession, Acads, Chismis, Org Life, and more).
What is a School Wall?
Each university has its own wall where students post content specific to their school. You can read posts on any school wall, but you can only post to the wall of your own verified school.
How does Campus Match work?
Campus Match is an opt-in feature that connects you with another verified student based on school and shared interest tags. You choose your preferences before entering the queue. Once matched, you chat anonymously using only your anonymous username. Neither side can see the other person's real identity. You can report or block your match at any time, and either side can end the session whenever they choose.
What happens when a chat session ends?
Either party can leave a chat at any time. Once a session ends, neither user can reopen it. If you match again with the same person, it starts a completely new session.
Safety & Moderation
What is the trust score?
Every account starts with a trust score of 50. Violations (confirmed reports, warned behavior) reduce it; time in good standing increases it. Accounts with very low trust scores may face additional posting restrictions, such as lower post frequency limits.
How do I report someone?
Tap the Report option on any post, comment, chat message, or user profile. All reports are reviewed by human moderators. You can also block a user you have matched with to prevent future matches.
What happens after I report someone?
Your report is queued for moderator review. Depending on the finding, the moderator may remove the content, issue a warning, reduce the user's trust score, suspend the account, or issue a permanent ban. Severe violations such as sexual content involving minors are immediately escalated.
My account was banned. Can I appeal?
Yes. Banned users may submit one appeal for administrator review. If your appeal is accepted, your account will be reinstated. If it is denied, the ban stands. To submit an appeal, contact us at anoniversityph@gmail.com from your verified school email address.
Can a banned user create a new account?
No. Attempting to circumvent a ban by registering a new account is a violation of our Community Guidelines and will result in the new account being permanently banned as well.
Account & Data
How do I delete my account?
Open the app and go to Settings. At the bottom of the page, tap Request account deletion. A form will appear where you can optionally enter a reason. Type DELETE in the confirmation field, then tap Submit deletion request. Your account will be removed within 30 days.
What data is retained after account deletion?
After deletion, your account, profile, and personal data are removed. Posts or comments may remain in anonymized form where the link to your identity has been severed. Moderation and safety records related to confirmed violations may be retained for up to 12 months after resolution. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Does Anoniversity sell my data?
No. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for commercial purposes. Your school email is used only for verification and moderation and is never shared publicly.
How long is my data stored?
Your data is stored for as long as your account is active. After an account deletion request is processed (within 30 days), your personal data is removed from our systems. See our Privacy Policy for full retention details.
